A sports shop goes camping. How else? Our company outing in August 2026 took the whole Sport Meisel and Intersport Glass team to the campsite: pitch the tents, fire up the grill, spend a weekend outdoors. Almost fifty colleagues from six stores, plus families and dogs.

Why a sports shop goes camping, of all things

We sell hiking boots, backpacks, tents, ski gear — things that get used outside. So it makes sense that the company outing doesn’t lead to a restaurant but to a meadow. People who use the gear themselves give different advice.

Six stores in two federal states also means: we don’t see each other every day. The outing is the one weekend a year when Limbach-Oberfrohna, Mittweida, Olipark, Schwarzenberg, Aue and Marktredwitz sit at one table. Once you’ve seen the colleague from Aue pitch a tent, next time you call her instead of writing an email.

40 years of Katja

And there was one more reason to raise a glass: Katja celebrated her 40th work anniversary at Intersport Glass. With the company since 1986 — longer than some colleagues have been alive. Forty years of commitment, experience and loyalty. An anniversary to be proud of.

Thank you, Katja. Here’s to many more years together.

What this says about Sport Meisel as an employer

We are a sports retailer, in Saxony and Bavaria since 1985. Almost fifty people, six locations, short lines. People stay with us — Katja’s forty years are the best example. That’s not because of the camping. But the camping is part of it: alongside work, switching off together matters just as much.

If you live for sport and enjoy working with people, there’s a place for you here — in sales, in the ski workshop, in custom fitting. We are currently looking for a ski specialist (m/f/d) for Limbach-Oberfrohna.
