Club mile on 12 September: running shoe test, challenge and Schlager party

On Saturday 12 September it’s club mile day at Sport Meisel. Clubs from Limbach-Oberfrohna and the region present themselves, there are games and fun, food and drinks — and for everyone who runs, our test course outside the head store at Helenenstraße 74. Just drop by, no registration needed.

Running shoe test: run first, decide later

In a shop you stand in a shoe and it feels fine. After 400 metres things often look different. Your foot gets wider and longer as you run, cushioning only works properly under load, and whether a heel holds or rubs simply does not show while standing still.

That is the point of the course outside the door: put the shoe on, run a lap, come back and tell us what you noticed. Then try the next one. Brooks, New Balance and HOKA are on site with test shoes — three manufacturers with very different ideas of how a running shoe should feel. The Limbach-O. running club (LVL 2000 e. V.) supports the test and will be there. From 9 am, free of charge.

The challenge: six stamps, one camper van

For all club friends we’ve come up with something: pick six clubs, join their challenges and collect a stamp from each. There’s a stamp at the Limbomar too. Once you have all six, hand in your card to us by 6 pm — the prize draw takes place on the club mile at 6:30 pm.

Up for grabs: prize boxes worth 1,500 euros in total — and as the main prize a weekend from Friday to Monday with the Malibu camper van worth 870 euros. Anyone present at the draw picks their own prize. The challenge is supported by Limbomar, Apollo Filmtheater, EP:Meißner, SmileCamper and other partners.

From 7 pm: Schlager party

Once the stamps are counted, the evening continues: Ronny Kaiser sings the “Kaiser” — Roland Kaiser songs and more, from 7 pm right at Helenenstraße 74. Food and drinks are available all day.

Do I need to register for the club mile or the running shoe test?

No. Neither for the running shoe test nor for the challenge. Just come to Helenenstraße 74 on 12 September — the test course opens at 9 am.

How does the challenge work?

Ideally your own running socks and, if you have them, your current running shoes. The wear on the sole tells us a lot about how you run. Sportswear does not hurt but is not required — the lap is short.

Where and when is the club mile?

At Sport Meisel, Helenenstraße 74 in Limbach-Oberfrohna, on Saturday 12 September 2026. Running shoe test from 9 am, stamp hand-in by 6 pm, prize draw at 6:30 pm, Schlager party from 7 pm. From Chemnitz it is around 15 minutes by car.

Can I test running shoes if I cannot make 12 September?

Yes. We keep test shoes all year round and you can book an appointment for custom-fitted running shoes at any time. The club mile is simply the day when all three brands are there at once.
