This hiking trip shows the scenic variety of South Tyrol from its most beautiful side – on mostly easy to moderate trails that (almost) everyone can manage. Your base is the family-run Hotel Saxl in Freienfeld near Sterzing. From here you hike the highlights of the region with a qualified hiking guide.
The tours range from the Seiser Alm – Europe’s highest alpine meadow with panoramic views of the Dolomites – via the spectacular Gilfenklamm marble gorge with its suspension bridges and walkways to the Rosskopf lookout mountain. A highlight is the hike to the world-famous Three Peaks (Drei Zinnen), the UNESCO World Heritage of the Dolomites, with views of the dramatic north faces from the Paternsattel.
In between you enjoy an alpine picnic, visit a traditional wood-carving workshop in St. Ulrich and the 400-year-old Glangnerhof farm with its deer park. Travel is by modern comfort coach from Saxony/Ore Mountains over the Brenner Pass, with free home pick-up.

Itinerary — day by day
1 Day 1 · Arrival in Sterzing
After crossing the Brenner Pass you reach your cosy hotel just outside Sterzing.
2 Day 2 · Seiser Alm & St. Ulrich
Cable-car ride to the Seiser Alm, Europe's highest alpine meadow, with panoramic views of the Dolomites, alpine picnic and visit to a traditional wood-carving workshop in St. Ulrich.
3 Day 3 · Gilfenklamm & Rosskopf
Gilfenklamm marble gorge with suspension bridges and walkways. Cable-car ride to the Rosskopf (2,189 m), hike with spectacular mountain panorama (sure-footedness required).
4 Day 4 · Glangnerhof hike
Easy hike through the orchards of Feldthurns to the 400-year-old Glangnerhof with cross vaults, deer park, small animals and dairy cattle.
5 Day 5 · Three Peaks
Hike in the UNESCO World Heritage of the Dolomites to the world-famous Three Peaks with views of the dramatic north faces from the Paternsattel (moderate, sure-footedness required).
6 Day 6 · Journey home
